Automotive Electrical Technician

Celebrating our 17th year in the Phoenix area, InterLink Engineering, LLC supports a wide variety of industries with a primary focus on product development, reverse engineering, and design support. Our capabilities allow for us to support our customers by either performing engineering tasks at our facility or at our customer sites as required.

We are currently seeking up to four Automotive Electrical Technicians with experience diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, with automotive experience being strongly preferred. This opportunity is a six-month contract role with the possibility of direct hire by this client, based on performance. The qualified Technician would work on-site at our customer’s location where vehicles are heavily modified for accessibility.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repairs on vehicle electronics assemblies

Contribute towards the development of repair procedures

Train others on repair procedures

Use a variety of hand and power tools with a strong focus on safety and quality, including electrical test and troubleshooting equipment

Document repair activities

Assist in identifying and correcting the cause of problems by partnering with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment

Physical Requirements:

Able to read manuals and schematics

Ability to stand or kneel for extended periods of time

Overall Characteristics:

High School diploma or equivalent required

At least 1 year experience in automotive electrical diagnostics and repair

Trade, vocational, or technical school degree is strongly preferred

ASE certifications (Automotive Service Excellence) preferred, but not required

Possess strong knowledge and understanding of electrical principles

Ability to use diagnostic equipment to isolate wiring issues, connectivity issues, equipment failures, and operational anomalies

Knowledge of electrical hazards, including precautionary measures around High Voltage equipment, stored energy components, and spinning machinery

Ability to use basic electrical tools (digital multimeter, etc.)

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to multi-task and function in a factory environment

Motivated, self-starter with the ability to learn quickly

Ability to network with associates in other departments to find needed information

Willingness to consider change and to adapt

Quick reaction to business opportunities
